On offer here is a charming replica statue fragment of a middle kingdom official. He wears a broad striated wig and a figure hugging cloak that is inscribed with hieroglyphs. Directly below the wrist, a small fold of cloth described in shallow relief shows where the cloak was tied.
His hand is placed on an angle over his chest as a symbol of piety.
On the back support pillar are further inscriptions neatly cut and when viewing the back, one can clearly see the quality of symmetry applied to the prominent wig.
The colour is an aged slate black with traces of ochre.
Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone it has a polished removable stand with a felt base thus allowing you to examine the piece in your hand like a real antiquity.
