Seal impression - 9 cm x 4 cm / 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches
Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone with an aged ochre coloration.
This Kassite cylinder seal impression replica features a lengthy cuneiform text. An eroded figure with a somewhat staunch posture can be seen at the beginning of the text and he wears a long tunic while holding a sword. The figure is repeated at the end of the text where the cylinder rolled a duplicate figure.
It should be noted that when collecting seals and / or impressions, sometimes only the impression has survived with the seal itself lost forever. Vice versa is also true. Many damaged and incomplete seals have been reunited with their found impressions thus providing a complete as intended record.
