Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone, this tablet has been hand painted in ancient colours and tones.
Using a hook or nail, the piece has the potential to hang as a wall feature with a carefully added wire loop on the back.
On offer here is an interesting replica of an offering scene from ancient Egypt. The owner who commissioned the carving is the largest figure and he tentatively holds the hand of his wife. A small figure directly in front of his striding feet, is their son and sandal bearer.
Another small figure is positioned in front of the mans face and is administering a potion of beer and herbs in a bowl. A chest of jars and ointments and what looks like mushrooms are present at the right of the scene which has inspired this piece to be known as a 'medicinal tablet'.
