Egyptian mythology relief sculpture featuring Heka, Thoth, Khnum, Taweret, Seth
On offer here is another rare replica featuring an interesting scene from Egyptian mythology, a virtual parade of gods. The proportions of the figures are pleasing with only a summary treatment of the inner details, quite typical of the era for inner or outer sarcophagus decoration.

Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone and has an aged ochre patina.

On offer here is a fine replica fragment featuring a parade of Egyptian gods in crisp, sunken relief.
Unavailable since 2022.
At first glance it compares well with the summary style of the Chia stele that is regularly available, but with a closer examination it reveals a Saite period - 26th dynasty date and style.
Iconography and the spacing of the hieroglyphs point to this era as the likely dating.
The gods featured from left to right are :-
Khnum - a creator god, said to have created man on a potters wheel.
Horus of Hibonu (Hipponon) - riding an ibex holding on by the horns with human hands.
Horus again surmounting a papyrus column
Maat - Goddess of truth, justice, balance and harmony
Isis / Hathor - Mother goddess - magic, music, love and dance.
