Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone and it has an aged patina.
On offer here is one of my early Thoth images originally from 1993 that was reproduced in 2010.
Quite a rare piece in my back catalogue that was part of the recent haul of discoveries from some domestic archaeology in my old studio.
It features the god of wisdom, writing and the moon striding before the feather of Maat. Maat was the goddess of truth, justice and balance and she had a close association with Thoth in the weighing of the heart ceremony that determined the pathway into the afterlife for an individual.
The sacred ibis is often maligned in this country but they are seriously intelligent and resilient birds which is why the ancient Egyptians admired and ultimately deified them.
