Egyptian hieroglyphs relief sculpture
Dimensions:-
Length - 14.2 cm /5-1/2 inches
Height - 11.5 cm / 4-1/2 inches
On offer here for the first time is an ancient Egyptian relief fragment replica that features two well preserved hieroglyphs with remnants of others to be seen on the fringes.
The most prominent glyph is the central Egyptian desert hare which is finely modeled in a crouching position. The Egyptians called the hare Sekhat and when used in hieroglyphic text it is considered a biliteral with the sound value 'wn' or 'un'. Below is the water glyph which is often placed with this glyph to emphasize the 'n' and when they are together it says 'oon' or 'oonen'.
It is an ideogram that means 'to be' or 'to exist'.
The only other glyph I can determine is the tail of the resting cobra which is a uniliteral sign that equals the sound value of Dj.
