Anubis Is often one of the first Egyptian gods that become known to people when they are confronted with the complex pantheon of Egyptian gods & goddesses. The striking figure of a Jackals' head with a mans body is a most compelling form.
Anubis or Anpu as he was know in the Egyptian tongue, made the 1st mummy (Osiris / Assar) and was forever to be associated with mummification for all periods of Ancient Egyptian history. This small representation depicts Anubis holding a WAS/WASS sceptre which signifies dominion and mastery of his realm.
Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone and has been mounted on a polished felt based stand and is signed on the back.
