This was a time when there was a major revival of the already ancient styles associated with Sumerian art. Prompted by the discovery of long buried temples and sculptures this cultural treasure inspired the artists of the day to revive the styles and sometimes subject matter of the early kings and his people.
This statue has some fine details in the depiction of the beard and the overall form is balanced and attractive from all angles.
