Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone with a variety of aged patinas.
An ancient household favorite, Bes has returned to the collection with company. The replica statue has never looked better with a rustic old look that is very authentic. In addition, my old amulet of Bes with his tongue poking out wearing a remnant feather headdress.
Tauret the hippopotamus god of childbirth and pregnant women has been included in the set in the form of a small card. Her very shape inspired such pregnant associations but unlike a real hippopotamus, she walked on two legs and could have the tail of a crocodile as in this amulet.
Both deities have associations with the protection of the home and childbirth.
