It is of one of my original carving designs featuring the most famous Pharaoh of all, the boy king Tutankhamun.
This actual piece is painted with aged, subtle flesh tones, soft reds, yellow ochre, black, white and blue. The piece is dominated by the traditional yellow and blue stripes of the nemes head cloth which some theories I've read suggest is an abstract representation of sunbeams refracted in a blue sky.
Made of a limestone and quartzite composition stone, it is mounted on a polished, felt based stand which provides an excellent support.
It is a sunken relief carving so will benefit from good overhead lighting that will highlight the details. I have used a simple desk lamp in these photo's which really brings out the cheek bones and distinctive grooves of the headdress.
