Thoth also known as Djehuty, was associated with the moon and could be represented as an baboon with or without the crescent moon worn on his head.
This representation shows the form of the male human body with the head of the sacred Ibis wearing a combination full and crescent moon headdress.
The title of moon god was also shared with Khonsu, who was a more abstract youthful human form originating from the Theban region. (Modern day Luxor)
Made of a fine limestone and quartzite composition stone, it has been hand painted with subtle tones of the Egyptian colour palette and has been mounted on a polished felt based stand.
